Our Mission

A shared lake, kept open and cared for — for everyone who has a right to it.

Second Lake is one of Lake Luzerne's quiet treasures. Our neighborhood holds a deeded public access to it, recorded in the Town and Warren County property records. This effort exists to make sure that access is clearly established, well maintained, and welcoming — so it can be the asset it was always meant to be.

Reopen the access

Clarify and restore lawful use of the recorded right-of-way to the lake, so neighbors who hold that right can reach the water again.

Maintain & beautify

Keep the trail and shoreline clean, safe, and cared for — regular cleanups instead of litter, mulch piles, and neglect.

The Access

A deeded right that's been quietly slipping away.

Property listings across our neighborhood advertise exclusive, deeded lake access — and the deeded public access to Second Lake really does exist in the recorded survey and the county's records. But on the ground, the reality has drifted far from the paperwork.

The trail has been allowed to fall into disrepair: litter and dumped piles collect there, entry points get blocked, and the shoreline that could be a shared gem sits neglected. Over time, that turns a genuine, recorded right into little more than a line on a listing.

We think the honest fix is daylight: confirm exactly where the access runs using the Town's own records, keep it maintained, and make sure everyone — neighbors on every side — understands what the records actually say. No surprises, no games.

1Phase 1

Now → Spring

Validate the right-of-way & deeded access

Commission a licensed survey against the Town and Warren County records to confirm exactly where the deeded access runs — the objective foundation for everything else.

2Phase 2

Spring → Summer

Community trail cleanup

Organize neighborhood cleanup days to clear the blockages, deadfall, and dumped piles — reopening a safe, walkable path from the road to the water.

3Phase 3

Summer → Fall

Establish a usable waterfront access area

Turn the shoreline landing into a genuinely usable spot — cleared, tidy, and welcoming for neighbors to actually reach and enjoy the lake.
